Rohan is an Investment Advisor and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. As a member of the financial planning team, Rohan is involved in developing and stress-testing financial plans for clients, with a focus on retirement, education, insurance, and other financial aspects of life. He is the firm’s expert on Social Security benefits. Rohan is also a Portfolio Manager, serving as a key member of Bell’s investment committee for which he studies market trends and does fund history research. Also key to his portfolio management role is his routine oversight of investment transactions in client accounts.
Rohan was born and raised in Mumbai, India and moved to the Bay Area at the age of 12. He spent his teen years in Fremont and after high school attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he earned a pre-med degree in biopsychology. After the premature loss of his father soon thereafter, his plan to attend medical school and his role in the family changed. As the oldest son, he assumed a paternal role in the family and began learning firsthand about the dire importance of finance and financial planning in planning for the future.
This deep personal experience turned his head from health care to the idea of “financial health.” He has been dedicated to the field ever since, believing this to be a most meaningful and rewarding profession. He went on to complete the Personal Financial Planning Program at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and after four years of study and work experience in the field, attained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ distinction in 2012.
Away from work, Rohan likes spending time with his family and friends and traveling within the United States and abroad to India. During the fall of 2015, he and his bride-to-be flew to India for a traditional Indian wedding and accompanying grand celebrations in the presence of extensive family.
Rohan is an avid sports fan, particularly of cricket (the Indian Cricket Team), and professional NBA basketball. He enjoys a wide variety of ethnic cuisines and has been called a “foodie” by many of his co-workers and friends.
