Hidden Talent: dream work, hand reading

Inspiration: dance meditation, music, being in nature, silence

Nancy is the Marketing Manager at Bell. Her functions are wide-ranging, including: management of the Bell website, social media communications, our periodic e-newsletters, and our quarterly print newsletter, The Opening Bell; responsibility for the firm’s visual identity standards; scheduling, coordinating, and advertising of Bell webinars and live events; design and hands-on production of webinar presentation slides, of online and print invitations and announcements, and of print ads appearing in a number of Bay Area periodicals and concert programs. In a staff with considerable writing skill, Nancy is the hands-down expert grammarian, proofreader, and editor for Bell communications.

Prior to coming to Bell, Nancy managed the Creative Services department at Barra, an international financial consulting and computer software firm headquartered in Berkeley, California. She joined Bell as Assistant to the President in 2004, bringing her many organizational, administrative, and artistic talents to the firm. As her years of experience in creative services became increasingly important to Bell, she was promoted in 2010 to Marketing Communications Specialist; in this capacity, she acted as the firm’s liaison with an external marketing consulting firm hired to assist us with the development of a new visual identity, website, and general support. After the collaboration ended in 2015, Nancy was promoted to Marketing Manager.

Nancy studied anthropology at Reed College in Portland, Oregon and received a B.A. in Art History with an emphasis in Far Eastern art from the University of California, Berkeley. She did graduate work in family therapy at California State University, Hayward and continues to pursue interests in art, dance, Gurdjieff work, Sufism, and dream work. Her artist daughter is a college instructor, writer, and web designer in Manhattan.
