A man of faith and caring, Jim Bell brings a decidedly different orientation to his profession. He sees his role as that of a steward: a trustworthy advisor with an obligation to help others utilize their resources and gifts to produce the best possible future, based on what they value and care about. In 1991, Jim founded Bell Investment Advisors. Since then, his firm has enjoyed steady growth, primarily through personal and professional referrals. Jim has appeared as a guest on MSNBC Power Lunch, CNN Financial News, and has been interviewed for a variety of online and print news sources, including Money magazine, mutualfundwire.com and the San Francisco Business Times. He has also appeared on View from the Bay with his wife Bonnie, addressing financial and life planning issues for Boomers. Jim earned a degree in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Master of Divinity from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California. After serving in the ministry, he completed his studies at the College for Financial Planning and was awarded the designation of Certified Financial Planner™. He has worked in the investment field since 1982. Jim is a member of the Financial Planning Association. He is also registered as a Player Financial Advisor with the National Football League Players Association. Jim and his wife, Bonnie, are justifiably proud of their great marriage. They spend their free time pursuing interests that include live theater, the Oakland Symphony and Ballet, hiking and reading. They also share a passion for contributing to the community, and actively donate their time and resources to a variety of charitable and cultural organizations in the greater Bay Area. |
