Hy Resnick PhD, Investment Committee Member

Hy Resnick is a retired founding member of Bell Investment Advisors, Inc. He now comes in monthly for our investment committee meetings and weighs in on the current investment environment, adding his unique perspective.

He started working as a Senior Investment Analyst for Bell Investment Advisors in the winter of 1991. Dr. Resnick joined Chevron Corporation in 1952 where he worked until his retirement in 1986. His career at Chevron was primarily devoted to the technical areas of both “upstream” (exploration and production) and “downstream” (refining, petrochemicals and transportation) operations. His final position was manager of a division of 70 professionals working on research, development, and application of computer-based control, information, and planning systems. While at Chevron, Dr. Resnick worked as a financial analyst on the corporate staff developing, analyzing, and implementing financial investments for all areas of the Corporation's activities, including the retirement programs. His financial background also includes attendance at business courses and seminars at Harvard, MIT, and Stanford. Dr. Resnick has over 35 years of general and corporate investment experience. Dr. Resnick retired again from full time employment in 2001.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University and a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Now he spends his days keeping on top of the stock market, traveling extensively and spending time with his family.
