Dana Nelson, Portfolio Manager

As Portfolio Manager at Bell Investment Advisors, Dana oversees investments and client portfolios using our disciplined strategy, ACTIVE PORTFOLIO ENHANCEMENT ®. Dana works with clients to ensure they have an optimum allocation based on their goals and investment objectives. In addition, he builds relationships in our community, introduces prospective clients to our firm, and is credited with establishing and managing many client relationships. Dana is a member of our Leadership Committee and at the core of our Investment Committee. He and Matt King also co-manage the Bell Worldwide Trends Fund which was launched in 2007.

Dana joined the Bell team in 2003 as Investment Analyst. He executed trades, strengthened relationships through client service, and conducted research to identify trends in the market. He was promoted to Portfolio Manager in 2007.

Dana earned a Bachelor of Science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo where he majored in Business Administration with a concentration in Financial Management and a minor in Economics. Dana holds a Series 65 securities license. He is also an active member of the Cal Poly Alumni Association.

Dana lives in Pleasant Hill with his wife, Tavia, and their chocolate labrador retriever. He enjoys exploring new places and traveling to favorites like Tahoe. Dana loves participating in outdoor sports like snowboarding, wakeboarding, hiking, and biking. He is an automobile enthusiast and enjoys great food and all kinds of music.
