Nancy originally joined Bell Investment Advisors as Assistant to the President in 2004 and soon became an integral member of the Bell team, bringing her many organizational, administrative, and artistic talents to bear on the way things are done at Bell. Quite simply, Jim could not accomplish what he does personally, professionally, or in the community without her expert assistance. She “delights in the culture at Bell Investment Advisors where, in a beautiful and gracious environment, spirited co-workers with a natural inclination for genuine teamwork commit to the highest standards of work and service.”

Prior to joining Bell, Nancy managed the Creative Services Department at Barra, an international financial consulting and computer software firm headquartered in Berkeley, California. Her years of experience in creative services have become increasingly important to Bell over the years, culminating in 2010 in our work with Gumas, the external marketing consulting firm assisting us with the development of our new visual identity and website.

Nancy has been and continues to be responsible for creating and producing ads appearing in multiple Bay Area publications, including the San Francisco Business Times, the Piedmont Post, Diablo Magazine; and programs of the Oakland East Bay Symphony, the Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir, the Ann Martin Center, and Festival Opera of Walnut Creek.

In a staff with considerable writing talent and skill, Nancy is the hands-down expert grammarian, proofreader, and editor for all Bell communications.

Nancy studied anthropology at Reed College in Portland and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in Art History, emphasis in Far Eastern art. She did graduate work in family therapy at California State University, Hayward, and continues to pursue vast personal interests in spirituality, art, dance, Jungian psychology, and dream work. Her daughter, Rachel Stevens, is an artist, also teacher, writer, and web designer in Manhattan.
